We are excited to announce our upcoming events for Fall 2024!

Welcome Meeting + Research Vision Board Workshop [17 October, Thursday, 11 am - 12pm, Online]:

In this meeting, we’ll get to know one another and we’ll set our research agenda for the year ahead, discuss strategies for how to create actionable, quantifiable goals on a semester and monthly basis. We will hopefully develop specific writing projects to be showcased in December’s writing workshop and exchange ideas on productivity, writing processes, editorial experiences, etc. Please RSVP here

 

Fall Study Hall, [7 November, Thursday, 11:30 am - 1 pm, Online]:

This will be a space where GPC members can gather and work on their research and projects in community with one another. We will spend 1.5 hours co-working and then at the end of the session, we will share what we’ve been working on, what was difficult in the process, and exchange ideas on how to approach and solve these problems. Please RSVP here. 

 

Career Planning Workshop [November 20, Wednesday, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Online]:

A professionalization workshop with invited guests where graduate students can meet with them in a low-stakes setting and ask questions about navigating one’s way in the discipline, etc. We will update the date and names of confirmed panelists soon! Please RSVP here. 

 

Save the Date: Writing Workshop [January 24, Friday, 10:30am-12:30pm, (in person)—with brunch included!:

GPC members can submit their work (article, conference paper, seminar paper, dissertation chapter, etc.) and receive feedback from fellow students and faculty.If you’d like to participate, please send a brief description of your writing topic to anaridia@umich.edu and cbarua@umich.edu by Monday, January 13. Drafts will be due by Sunday, January 19​.
